Oklahoma City Thunder center Steven Adams sprained his left ankle in the first quarter against the New Orleans Pelicans today and was ruled out for remainder of the game.
Adams lasted just nine minutes of the Thunder's 101-92 win before limping out with a left ankle sprain and was unable to return.
Adams injured the ankle defending a shot, landing awkwardly and rolling it.
Adams was set to be the Thunder's primary defender against league-leading scorer Anthony Davis, who had 24 and 10 rebounds in the first half. Adams checked out after nine minutes, scoring 7 points with 3 rebounds.
The 24-year-old New Zealander will likely be questionable for the Thunder's game Tuesday (NZT) against Dwight Howard and the Atlanta Hawks.
