As a result, the side have jumped into the fourth seed in the Western Conference.
With the match against the Kings being the first night of a back-to-back, the Thunder would have little time to prepare for their next match - away to the Atlanta Hawks.
Because of that, Adams' status would likely remain up in the air right until the team-list deadline.
Like Sacramento, Atlanta are likely to find themselves selecting in the lottery positions in this year's NBA draft, sitting at the bottom of the eastern Conference with a 20-47 record.
It's likely the Thunder will take a cautious approach with Adams' injury with some important matches on the horizon.
Following the Atlanta match up, the Thunder take on the LA Clippers, who are battling for a playoff spot in the West, and the top two teams in the East in the Toronto Raptors and Boston Celtics.
