The San Antonio Spurs reached the Western Conference final with a 114-106 win over the Phoenix Suns in game six of the National Basketball Association playoff today.
Manu Ginobili had 33 points and 11 rebounds as the Spurs wrapped up the series 4-2. San Antonio play Utah in the West final, while Detroit and Cleveland meet in the East.
Tony Parker added 30 points for the Spurs, who led by 20 points early in the fourth quarter and survived a late Phoenix comeback attempt to close out the series.
Tim Duncan had 24 points and 13 rebounds for the Spurs, who narrowly won game five in Phoenix when the Suns played without the suspended Amare Stoudemire and Boris Diaw.
Stoudemire returned and had 38 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Suns. Steve Nash added 18 points and had 14 assists.
Meanwhile, in New Jersey the Cleveland Cavaliers withstood a furious comeback by the Nets to seize an 88-72 victory and advance to the Eastern Conference finals.
LeBron James scored 23 points and Donyell Marshall 18 on six three-pointers to lead the Cavs, who won the best-of-seven semi-final series 4-2.
Cleveland will travel to Detroit to face the Pistons on Monday (local time) in the opener of their best-of-seven to determine the Eastern Conference representative in the NBA Finals.
