National Basketball League organisers are mobilising support in a bid to ensure the Southland Sharks can remain in the competition.
The Sharks only entered the NBL this season and are now without a home for at least a year following the collapse of the Stadium Southland roof.
NBL Chairman Sam Rossiter-Stead says they will do all they can.
Rossiter-Stead says they know what the Southland community spirit is like, and it's one region that could get a team back on its feet.
He says at this stage it's a case of providing operational help - finding offices and simple things like training equipment.
