A New Zealand women's basketball team could follow the Breakers into Australia's national league as early as next year, on the back of the Tall Ferns' Olympic success.
Basketball New Zealand has revealed that plans to enter a team in the Women's National Basketball League have been in place since 2002, but funding has stymied them.
If up to $600,000 can be found, the plan might be revived, Basketball New Zealand chief executive David Crocker says.
