Australian Andrew Lattimer led the Otago Nuggets to a 79-71 victory over the Waikato Titans in the National Basketball League in Dunedin last night -- making it four years since the visitors have won in the deep south.
Lattimer had 20 points, Hayden Allen 18, Leonard King 16 and Michael Kingma 15, as the Nuggets grabbed 18 offensive rebounds and outscored Waikato 20-4 in second chance points.
The victory, their third in a row, improved the southerners to 3-6 for the season.
Centre Geordie Cullen led the Titans with 19 points and nine rebounds as the visitors clocked up their third loss of the season.
They now have a 6-3 record and enjoy a rest day before completing their South Island road trip against Canterbury on Sunday.
