Basketball: NZ women miss WNBL

Basketball New Zealand will not field a franchise in the Australian women's national league in 2010-11.

The Christchurch Sirens withdrew from the league last year, due to lack of commercial support, and another suitable base could not be found.

However there are plans to get back in the league for the 2011-12 season. Eight Tall Ferns are scattered among the 10 franchises.
