Palmerston North will host next year's Oceania under-18 basketball championships.
The winners of the men's and women's championships will fill Oceania's spot at the world under-19 championships in 2011.
"Basketball New Zealand is very pleased to be hosting the Fiba Oceania under-18 Championships, in partnership with Sport Manawatu and Arena Manawatu, next year," Basketball NZ president John Gallaher said.
"The previous three Oceania age-group championships have been held in Australia, so we're hoping home-court advantage will benefit our teams as they battle to qualify for the under-19 world championships in 2011."
The event has been tentatively scheduled for September 17-19.
