Sue Moran has dominated this season's Women's National Basketball League and the final was no different.
Moran, the Canterbury Wildcats' Irish forward, produced a devastating performance in their 83-69 win in Dunedin over the Otago Breakers as she amassed 43 points and nine rebounds.
Canterbury coach Phil Jones described Moran as one of the best basketballers to have played in the national leagues. And few could argue after her efforts in the final.
Moran was almost flawless from the free-throw line where she converted 15 of her 16 attempts.
You would think she would be happy with 94 per cent accuracy but this 25-year-old's push for perfection is relentless.
"In the last couple of games I've missed one or two per game and I've been down about it. So Alissa Murphy and I got in the gym and took a bunch of free-throws and it paid off. You can afford to miss in other games but in the final and semifinal every shot counts."
Moran made 117 of her 137 attempts from the free-throw line this season for a remarkable 85 per cent success rate.
She heads back to the US next week laden with awards, including the final's Most Valuable Player, the WNBL's Most Outstanding Forward and the first picked in the All-Star Five.
