The Auckland Wheelbreakers have broken the Guinness World Record for the longest game of wheelchair basketball - 30 hours.
The previous record of 27 hours and 32 minutes was held by the South West Scorpions from the UK.
That time was shattered on Saturday night in the Parafed Auckland Gym at the Otara Spinal Unit, with 24 players from throughout New Zealand gathering to play the game they love.
With 12 on each team, the minimum amount of time a player had to stay on the court before subbing was 30 minutes. The longest shift by one player was three-and-a-half hours.
Parafed Auckland executive Hamish Meacheam said the game was "bloody competitive" the whole way through, with the lead changing at least 30 or 40 times right up until the last six hours.
