Gisborne-born Australian Aron Baynes has officially joined Boomers teammates Andrew Bogut and Patty Mills in the NBA.
Baynes, a 208cm centre who starred during the London Olympics, will team up with Mills at four-time champions the San Antonio Spurs, who also have former Boomers coach Brett Brown as an assistant.
The 26-year-old, who has been excelling with Euroleague club Union Olimpija, caught the attention of NBA scouts during the London Games.
Baynes helped Australia reach the quarter-finals, where they were beaten by Team USA.
The Spurs announced the signing on Thursday, with Baynes reportedly accepting a $US3.5 million deal over four years.
