The pundits reckon Kirk Penney will be a fringe-signing for NBA teams after returning around 50/50 stats-wise in his trials with the Milwaukee Bucks.
Their number one draft pick, Australian Andrew Bogut, was ejected from the first game against Minnesota but showed his class from there on with a big contribution in each game for an average 13.2 points. Penney hit just one of six three-shot attempts, his specialty. He awaits a decision from the Bucks.
He may have impressed another NBA side but any call-up is likely to be late and after rosters are all but settled, when there is little money left and teams are looking for back-up players. Europe may be a better bet for him.
