A judge has ordered that text messages from the cellphone of a former boyfriend of the woman who accuses basketball star Kobe Bryant of rape be turned over to the defence.
The defence wanted to see the text messages on Matt Herr's cellphone made in the hours after the woman said she was raped by Bryant last year in his room at a Colorado resort where she worked.
The defence contends the 19-year-old woman had consensual sex just hours after she said Bryant raped her and it wants to see if the text messages would help support its theory.
The former boyfriend objected to releasing the text messages, saying it would infringe on his privacy.
