Basketball: James fined for snub

National Basketball Association commissioner David Stern did an about-face yesterday and slapped LeBron James with a US$25,000 ($39,300) fine for refusing to shake hands with rivals and snubbing the media. The NBA's 2009 most valuable player left the building in a huff after the Cavaliers' 103-90 season-ending Eastern Conference final playoff loss to the Orlando Magic.
