If they didn't face enough challenges already, the Breakers might have to be without Cedric Jackson for Thursday night's must-win match against Townsville after the influential point guard rolled his ankle in training today.
Jackson has been one of the league's best players all season, although he was poor in the 99-82 defeat to the Crocodiles in the first game of the three-match series, and his absence would be a major blow.
He rolled his ankle when driving to the hoop in training and was clearly distressed as he was helped from the court. He was immediately taken away to see the club's physio but it's not yet clear how serious the damage is. Jackson has battled with an ankle injury all season.
The Breakers must beat the Crocodiles in Townsville on Thursday night to take the series to a decider in Auckland on Saturday night.
