American Garry Hill-Thomas sealed his National Basketball League scoring title as Taranaki outlasted Otago 120-111 in New Plymouth in the final match of the regular season yesterday.
Taranaki also came away with the King of the Boards title through Link Abrams. Hill-Thomas finished the season averaging 26.2 points, clear of second-placed Lindsay Tait of Auckland, with 24.
Abrams' 13 rebounds yesterday bumped his average up to 11.4, beating George Byrd of Manawatu, who had 10.5. Taranaki finished the season in eighth place with an 8-10 record, while Otago (2-16) finished last.
