Four players have been suspended for a combined eight games without pay by the NBA in the wake of a multi-player pre-season fight.
The brawl, in Monday's exhibition game between the Washington Wizards and Chicago Bulls, drew a total fine of nearly US$500,000 from NBA senior vice-president Stu Jackson.
Wizards centre Brendan Haywood was suspended for three games, Bulls centres Antonio Davis and Eddy Curry each received two-game bans, and Wizards guard Larry Hughes - who initiated the entire incident - received a one-game suspension. Bulls guard Kirk Hinrich was fined US$10,000
