The beleaguered Sydney Spirit have suffered another blow with swingman Liam Rush quitting the Australian NBL for a new deal in Europe. Rush will leave the Spirit immediately to join Swedish first division team Sundsvall Dragons, who sit last in the BasketLigan competition.
The NBL's 2007 Most Improved Player triggered a get-out clause in his contract two weeks after the Spirit's players were forced to take a 50 per cent pay cut to continue in the league.
