The New Zealand Breakers blew a 12-point lead after the first quarter to slump to a 100-92 loss to the Townsville Crocodiles in their Australian National Basketball League (ANBL) match in Townsville.
The Breakers, crowned ANBL minor premiers, led 36-24 after the opening 10 minutes, but could only rustle up 56 points for the rest of the match to slip to their sixth loss of the season.
Townsville guard Peter Crawford led the way for the home side with 20 points, while Garry Wilkinson was the Breakers' top-scorer with 22 points.
Star guard Kirk Penney was kept quiet with just 13 points, well below his per-game average of 20.7 points.
