The Breakers ended the pre-season Blitz tournament in Townsville with another defeat but there was one big positive to take from their overtime defeat against Cairns.
After winning their opener against Townsville on Wednesday night, the Breakers rounded out the tournament with narrow losses to the Wildcats and Taipans.
But the Breakers would have been buoyed by the performance of Everard Bartlett, who shot six-of-10 from beyond the arc to lead all scorers with 26 points.
Bartlett is filling in for NBA hopeful Corey Webster and, with Tom Abercrombie, Alex Pledger and Mika Vukona all also absent, an under-manned Breakers would have been satisfied with controlling much of the contest before falling 105-100.
