Townsville will seek legal advice after their German-born import Casey Calvary was cited by the Australian National Basketball League over a final-quarter incident involving referee Brett Campbell in Perth.
Calvary has been accused of "putting the referee in fear of impending violence" - thought to be the first time an ANBL player has faced such a charge - during Monday night's game between the Crocs and Perth.
ANBL commissioner Rick Burton found there was sufficient evidence to refer the incident between Calvary and Campbell, one of the ANBL's less-experienced referees, to its tribunal officer, Ken Madsen.
Calvary leads the league in fouls (4.7 per game) and reportedly upset Wollongong officials last month.
