The Auckland Stars have wrapped up the NBL regular season title. They have beaten the Waikato Titans 61-58 at Waitakere Stadium to take top position heading into the semifinals, which also gives them an extra life.
The Stars have 28 points with the Titans in fourth on 22.
Meanwhile the Bay Hawks' 93-89 win in Wellington has moved them into outright second place on 24 points.
Today, the Hawks travel to Nelson to take on the Giants in an important final round match.
The Giants need to win by seven or more points to snatch second place heading into the playoffs.
They are currently third on 22 points.
Meanwhile, Otago and Harbour battle in Dunedin and Manawatu and Taranaki play in Palmerston North.
