Baseball: Steroid plan rejected

The head of the Major League Baseball players' union has rejected commissioner Bud Selig's proposal to significantly increase penalties for steroid use, saying the current policy, suspensions of 10-60 days, is working fine.

Selig proposed suspensions from 50 games to a lifetime for positive steroid tests.
