MIRPUR, Bangladesh (AP) Mominul Haque's second test century propelled Bangladesh to 269-3 and a 114-run lead over New Zealand which left their second test in the balance on Thursday heading into the final day.
Mominul was 126 not out off 225 balls, after featuring in a 157-run partnership with Tamim Iqbal, a team record for the third wicket.
Mominul hit 181 in the first test in Chittagong, where it ended in a draw. That looks likely here as well, as Bangladesh will probably declare around lunchtime and see if Shakib Al Hasan can conjure anything out of a fairly flat pitch.
"We need to come out tomorrow morning and take a couple of wickets to put pressure on them. I think it'll be an exciting day," New Zealand opener Peter Fulton said.
After New Zealand added only 18 more runs to its overnight score and was bowled out on 437 for a 155-run lead, Mominul joined Tamim at 55-2 and cruised.
