New Zealand beat Australia 4-1 in Melbourne to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the Whyte Trophy badminton series.
It is the sixth straight transtasman series win over Australia going back to 1995. The third test was overnight with the Ballarat International which runs from September 6-9 to follow.
