The Battle of the Bridge did not amount to much in the Wisden Cup provincial badminton championships at North Harbour last night.
The home side dispatched the team from the south side of the harbour 14-2 and have now set themselves up for the final today against defending champs Waitakere.
Harbour dropped only the top women's singles as Rhona Robertson proved too strong for Linda Wu, even after losing the first game, to eventually come away with a 5-7, 7-2, 7-4, 7-1 victory.
The other win for Auckland came in the No 3 singles as Robert Batty beat Eric Leung in straight games.
Harbour almost lost the top mixed doubles match as the Commonwealth Games pairing of Chris Blair and Tammy Jenkins came from 0-4 down to win the fifth game 7-4 against Craig Cooper and Renee Flavell.
In the other Wisden Cup match, Wellington North beat Canterbury 12-4.
The final starts at 1.30pm today.
