New Zealand badminton players have lost to Korea in pool play at the Thomas Cup in Jakarta. The Kiwis, never favoured to trouble the highly rated Koreans, went down 5-0.
Coach Martin Andrew was not fazed by the loss, saying there were many positives to be taken from the tie.
"This was an opportunity for our lads to compete against some of the world's leading players and every game saw the Kiwis getting into a handful of rallies. It was vital they all had competitive matches before taking on Germany," he said.
If they beat Germany, the New Zealanders play the United States in the first round of knockout play, a tie they should take out comfortably.
