KEY POINTS:
New Zealand were beaten 5-0 by India on day two of the World Junior Badminton teams event at the Trusts Stadium, Waitakere, but didn't disgrace themselves against the seeded nation, where funding seems no object.
Although not expected to win, the home team couldn't capitalise on its chances to force the match into a close contest.
In the first match Ethan Haggo found his opponent, Guru Sai Dutt, too much of a handful, going down 21-9, 21-11.
The mixed contest was close in the second set, but Kevin Dennerly-Minturn and Stephanie Cheng were eventually beaten 21-15, 21-19.
In the vital third contest Melissa Leviana took her opponent, Arundhati Pantawane, to three sets and was up in the later stages of the final set before losing 22-20, 17-20, 21-18.
The win gave India the overall victory.
