Prized Sydney Roosters recruit Braith Anasta has revealed how a family feud with uncle and Souths league legend George Piggins was put aside when his grandmother died.
Anasta said the death of his grandmother - Piggins' mother - was a devastating blow to the pair. "It did [put it in perspective] because I wasn't happy with a few things George said and he probably wasn't happy with me," Anasta said. "It was like who cares about it. This is more important."
Anasta became embroiled in the public slanging match with Piggins after turning his back on a massive offer from South Sydney to sign a three-year deal with the Roosters last July. Anasta, 23, said the chance to ply his trade under NSW coach Ricky Stuart was a deciding factor behind his switch.
