Doctors are becoming more optimistic about Richmond AFL player Graham Polak as he recovers from a brain injury after being hit by a Melbourne tram.
Richmond club doctor Greg Hickey said Polak had opened his eyes and was able to squeeze a hand when asked. He was struck by the tram on Saturday night as he crossed Dandenong Road in suburban Armadale.
