The Twenty20 women's cricket Rosebowl match between Australia and New Zealand in Hamilton has been abandoned.
Play was due to start at 2.45pm, but heavy rain since early this morning meant the ground was unsuitable for play. At 3.45pm it was announced the match was abandoned.
The match was to be the first of two Twenty20 internationals between the two sides, with the second to be played on Thursday in Nelson, where there was also heavy rain today.
Seddon Park in Hamilton is also the venue tonight for the second Twenty20 international between the Pakistan and New Zealand men's sides. It has a projected 7pm start.
