The Black Caps thrashing, whipped, crushed and embarrassed World Cup winners Australia at Eden Park last night. The Herald looks back on other moments of nig New Zealand wins over Australia.

Basketball: NZ 100, Australia 78; Wellington 2009.
Not particularly fertile ground when looking for Kiwi victories of any sort, which makes this one stand out. Mika Vukona, Kirk Penney and co. needed to win by eight to claim the Ocenaia title, and went on a third quarter rampage.

Rugby: All Blacks 43, Wallabies 6; Wellington 1996.
Australia were lucky it was wet and windy. Enter open professionalism, and a bloke named Christian Cullen. The conditions were dreadful, the All Blacks close to perfect.

Cricket: New Zealand wins by an innings and 41 runs; Brisbane 1985.

League: New Zealand 24, Australia 0; Leeds 2005.
