Valerie Vili favourite to win NY event

Olympic Shot Put Champion Valerie Vili's new coach expects Vili to be back on top of the world before the end of the year.

With rival Nadezhda Ostapchuk out of action in New York tomorrow morning, Vili is the hot favourite to win the second Diamond League event of the year.

However Vili's coach Didier Poppe says with or without Ostapchuk, Vili should be the best.

He says she should be challenging for the number one spot in the world during the next competition in Europe.

Poppe says Vili has been making quick progress on new techniques introduced at training.
