Former Commonwealth Games walker and New Zealand Football chief executive Graham Seatter has been appointed to the new position of black singlet convenor with Athletics New Zealand.
The role is a part-time one and, among his duties, Seatter will head the selection panel for all black singlet events, which include the Olympic and Commonwealth Games, world championships at senior, junior and youth levels and the world indoor championships.
A pool of selectors with specific knowledge used to select different teams will be created.
Seatter is well know in the New Zealand sports fraternity.
He won eight New Zealand walking titles, three English titles and set 10 New Zealand records and competed at the 1978 and 1986 Commonwealth Games.
