Most people in Britain will be sleeping in on the April 29 bank holiday before tuning in for the royal wedding.
But Jason Chapman will be up at the crack of dawn, organising a race.
The New Zealander will add "a touch of Kiwi" to the big day with The Royal Wedding Day 5k.
"The event will have a romantic flair as couples will be handcuffed together," said the Te Kuiti-born 40-year-old.
The race is being arranged under his Kiwi Classic Events company in Stockport, Greater Manchester.
It is one of thousands of functions being organised in Britain on the day Prince William marries Kate Middleton at Westminster Abbey.
But most are street parties being held after royal fans have watched the ceremony screened live on television.
Mr Chapman said he wasn't too fussed about the wedding.
"I might watch it. It just depends on the race and if I've cleaned everything up by then. If I get a chance then I will."
Keen runners through the town's Woodbank Stadium and Vernon Park will be able to win prizes in the categories of married, civil partners, engaged, cohabiting, two singles, family pairs, best dressed, best fancy dress and best costume.
There is even a category for divorced or separated couples.
Mr Chapman started his company with his English wife, Rachel, three years ago.
He also manages a Sweatshop, Britain's largest running specialist store.
Mr Chapman has lived in Britain for eight years with his wife, whom he met while working in Rotorua at The Wall, an indoor climbing centre.
She was travelling around New Zealand and had left something behind at the facility. Mr Chapman tracked her down at her backpackers to give the item back.
