The future of Australian sprinting could be filled with Olympic medals if the stunning video of 12-year old James Gallaugher running at a primary school relay race is anything to go by.
The schoolboy from Ulladulla in New South Wales served notice of his talent in a recent state wide primary school challenge when he made up over 20 metres on the race leader as the final leg of his 4x100m relay team.
Gallaugher's coach, Scott Richardson, believes he has a genuine talent on his hands.
"He is a freak," Richardson told the Melbourne Herald Sun, " and I mean that in the very best way.
"When I talk about him with my wife and my family, we just say he is going to be the greatest sprinter we have ever had if he keeps improving at the rate which he is."
