In less than typical fashion, New Zealands top pole vault trio have reached new heights in preparation for their next competition with a 193m SkyJump from Aucklands Sky Tower.
Today, Eliza McCartney, Olivia McTaggart, and Nick Southgate, took to the heights of the Sky Tower to get a birds eye view of their next competition ground, Federal Street, ahead of the SKYCITY Vertical Pursuit event on 18 March.
The SKYCITY Vertical Pursuit competition, delivered by Athletics New Zealand and SKYCITY, will give fans a rare opportunity to watch world class athletes, local and international, compete at close proximity.
The unique urban pole vault event will be held on a new specially constructed runway and will be officially recognised for world rankings purposes.
Three international competitors, including Morgan Leleux from (USA) Wilma Murto (Finland) and Anicka Newell (Canada) will be competing at the Vertical Pursuit event, along with the best Kiwi vaulters.
The SKYCITY Vertical Pursuit will be free for spectators to attend; it forms part of the Athletics New Zealand International Series of elite competitions being held in five cities over 11 days in March.
