Olympic shot put champion Valerie Adams has checked herself into hospital again, although this time it's for a relatively minor procedure.
Adams had a bit of maintenance done on her right knee and will need 8-12 weeks of rehab.
Adams has endured a torrid return from shoulder and elbow surgery last year, pulling out of this month's World Championships due to poor form.
The 30-year-old, who has won the world title four times, lost for the first time in 56 meetings over five years as she returned from injury this season.
Earlier this month she said her recovery from right elbow surgery, particularly, was taking longer than expected, adding "no-one said it would be easy but I ... will continue to fight and work towards defending my title in Rio 2016."
