New Zealand's Valerie Vili finished second in the shot put at the International Amateur Athletics Federation (IAAF) world final in Monaco early today (NZT).
Vili threw 19.55m to take the runnerup spot behind Nadezhda Ostapchuk of Belarus who won the title with a throw of 20.44m
Vili took bronze to Ostapchuk's gold at last month's world championships in Helsinki.
Vili now travels to Shanghai where she will compete in the IAAF Golden League meeting on September 17.
The next day Vili will compete at the Japanese super meeting in Yokohama, before returning to New Zealand on September 21.
