KEY POINTS:
New Zealand's world shot put champion Valerie Vili has been accepted into the world athletics final in Stuttgart, Germany, on Monday morning (NZT).
Vili has received an entry via a wildcard and is expected to resume her rivalry with Nadzeya Ostapchuk, of Belarus.
She beat the European at the world championships in Osaka, Japan, last month when her gold medal-winning throw of 20.54m gave her a 6cm advantage over silver medallist Ostapchuk.
Vili's effort there remains the best recorded this year.
Other strong performers in Japan, Nadine Kleinert and Petra Lammert, of Germany, will also be competing in Stuttgart.
Vili is one of two New Zealanders accepted into the Stuttgart field, the other being discus throw Beatrice Faumuina.
Faumuina, the 1997 world discus champion, failed to qualify for the final in Osaka.
World champion Franka Dietzsch, 39, of Germany, is expected to dominate the event.
