New Zealand shot put thrower Valerie Vili continued her dominant form in Europe with comfortable wins at two athletics meets in Germany over the weekend.
Two weeks after snaring her second world championship title, Vili cleared 20m twice to destroy the field at meets in Thum and Bad Kostritiz, producing best distances of 20.45m and 20.41m respectively.
Second at both meets was German Nadine Kleinart, who also had to settle for silver at the world chamionships in Berlin. She managed bests of 19.07m and 19.49 over the weekend.
Vili's unbeaten record has now extended to nearly two years, heading into her next competition, the World Athletic final at Thessaloniki in Greece.
She was last beaten at the same meet, at Stuttgart two years ago when pipped by Nadzeya Ostapchuk of Belarus.
