Olympic champion Valerie Vili was barely challenged in winning the shot put at the Melbourne Track Classic last night.
Vili recorded a distance of 20.05 metres, nearly five metres more than her nearest rival.
Meanwhile, Nick Willis has beaten Olympic champion Asbel Kiprop in the 1500 metres, but could finish no better than third.
Willis ran three minutes 43.33 to be pipped by Australians Jeff Riseley and Jeremy Roff, and beat Olympic gold medalist Asbel Kiprop by just over four-tenths of a second.
Fellow New Zealander Stuart Farquhar finished second in the javelin with a best throw of 83.26.
