World shot put champion Valerie Vili has been awarded the Lonsdale Cup for the second consecutive year by the New Zealand Olympic Committee.
The Lonsdale Cup is the NZOC's highest award and goes to the athlete who has made the most outstanding contribution to an Olympic or Commonwealth sport each year.
Vili, 23, won the women's world shot put title at the Osaka world championships in August with a New Zealand record-breaking throw of 20.54m, surpassing her old mark of 20.20m set in 2006.
