Two-time Olympic champion Valerie Adams warmed up for next month's world championships by winning her 37th consecutive shot put competition at a meeting in Lucerne this morning (NZT).
Adams threw 20.76m to win the competition by more than 1m from German Christina Schwanitz, who could manage only 19.65m.
She is hot favourite to claim a fourth consecutive world crown in Moscow next month, to go with the titles she won at Osaka (2007), Berlin (2009) and Daegu (2011).
The Swiss-based Aucklander also won bronze in Helsinki in 2005 but was promoted to second after a retrospective drugs test on a sample provided by Belarusian Nadzeya Ostapchuk was positive.
Adams has one more scheduled competition before Moscow, a Diamond League meeting in London on July 27.
