Valerie Adams has lifted her Olympics preparation up a gear at the Diamond League athletics meet in Monaco.
The Kiwi shotputter has thrown a winning effort of 20.05m to win the meet by 24cm from Germany's Christina Schwanitz.
Adams' best effort came in the fifth round, after recording three throws over 19 metres and marks the first time she's thrown over 20 metres since 2014.
The victory also extends Adams' lead in the Diamond League.
