New Zealand distance runner Kim Smith continued her return from imjury, finishing second in the Boston 10km overnight (NZT).
Smith, who has a best of 31 minutes 23 seconds on the road over 10km set a year ago, clocked a solid 32min 06s behind Kenyan Caroline Kilel's winning 31min 58sec.
Other New Zealanders in action overseas included world championship-bound distance runner Nikki Hamblin, who clocked 2min 03.49sec in finishing eighth in a meeting in Szczecin, Poland.
Compatriot Adrian Blincoe clocked 3min 38.48sec in finishing sixth over 1500m at the same meeting.
And in Nivelles, Belgium, sprinter Monique Williams won the 200m in 24.27sec before taking the B race100m in 12.01sec.
