Athletics: Smith our main medal hope

Athens Olympian Kimberley Smith shapes as New Zealand's leading medal hope on the track at the World University Games in Turkey in August.

The 23-year-old middle-distance runner heads a 20-strong track and field team confirmed yesterday for the Games in Izmir from August 11 to August 21.

Smith finished 20th of 41 starters in the 5000m at last year's Olympics.
