Eliza McCartney set a New Zealand, Oceania and Commonwealth record of 4.92m. She cleared 4.86 to improve her record from 4.85 set in Oregon, USA last month and then cleared 4.92 to extend it even further. The series was 4.50 0, 4.70 0, 4.86 0, 4.92 x0, 5.00 xxx. McCartney is now fourth on the world all-time list and the 4.92m is the 14th all-time best performance. Maddison-Lee Wesche U/20 SP 17.00m PB (1), (14.80, 15.85, 15.44, 17.00. 15.26, x). 6cm improvement on her performance at the New Zealand championships in Hamilton in March and takes her to number five on the New Zealand all-time list surpassing Beatrice Faumuinas 16.96m.
AUCKLAND
Athletics Auckland Cross Country Grand Prix 4, Long Bay Regional Park - 23 June 2018
Peter Wheeler made short work of the annual 4km around the sand based Long Bay Park winning in 12:52, 19 seconds ahead of last years winner Jono Jackson.
Max Thomson was third in 13:18. Adam Gallagher was the best of the masters over the same distance in 13:53. Nick Pannett recorded 13:58 and Nick Moore 14:01.
Olivia Burne won the womens 4km in 14:32, from Penny Peskett and Esther Keown. Michelle Hopkins led in the masters in 16:22, followed by Kapiti visitor Renae Creser and Melissa Vickers.
Under 20 winners were Stuart Hofmeyer and Hannah Houghton. Jude Darby won the under 18 men and Kimberley May the under 18 women.
Other winners were Luke Clements U/15, Finlay Smith U/13, Samuel Rickerby U/11, Max Cook U/9, Jaime Lewis U/15, Eryn Westlake U/13, Amy Hurly U/11 and Biahn Pallister U/9.

Andrew Reese Memorial Relays, Woodend Beach Domain - 23 June 2018
Christchurch Avon were the fastest in four of the six relays on the programme, the senior men with Ieuan Van der Peet, who ran the 5km lap in 14:49, Cameron Swales, Matt Dryden and Sean Eustace; the senior women with Sarah Douglas who ran 17:24, Amelia Persson, Georgia Shinn and Jessica Schofield; the junior men with Kelvin Milne, Corban Straker, Luke Mitchell and Cameron Clark who ran 15:47; the junior women with Tamara Reeves who ran 18:49, Lorna Pairman, Laura Clarke and Lahana Reeves. Sumner with Nathan Jones who ran 16:51, Laurence Cooke, Lockie Campbell and Shaun McWhirter were the fastest in the master men. New Brighton Olympic with Tina Cox, Ruth Love-Smith, Carolyn Forsey and Shannon Leigh Litt were the fastest in the master women. Maggie Chorley of University ran the lap in 19:22.

OBITUARY
Past president and life member of Athletics New Zealand and former national sprint champion Graham Davy OBE of Auckland died on Monday 18 June 2018, aged 81.
Davy was a member of the Onehunga Athletic Club and he won the New Zealand 100 yards title in 1960 in Invercargill. He attended Auckland Grammar School 1950/54 and was a member of the 1954 senior athletic and hockey teams. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant and was the secretary of the Auckland Athletic Centre for ten years from 1960. He was president of Athletics Auckland 1970/75 and was made a life member in 1975. Davy was president of Athletics New Zealand 1976/77 and was made a life member in 1984. For 15 years up to 1983 he was on the Council of NZAAA, representing Auckland. He was the athletic section manager of the team to the 1972 Munich Olympic Games, where his good friend Rod Dixon won the bronze medal in the 1500m.
Davy helped establish the New Zealand Sports Foundation in 1978, the forerunner to SPARC and was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in the 1986 Queens Birthday Honours for services to sport. He was Athletics Sports Director at the 1990 Auckland Commonwealth Games and was a recipient of the 1990 Commemoration Medal.
Davy is the fourth life member of Athletics New Zealand, after Graeme McCabe, Jim Cunningham and Arthur Eustace, to die in the last nine months.
WELLINGTON
At the Wellington Sports Awards on Wednesday 20 June Cam Robinson received the New Zealand Emerging Sportsman of the Year Award and Melissa Moon was inducted as a Sports Legend of Wellington.
