Chevron Houston Half Marathon - 14 January 2018
Jake Robertson equalled his personal best in winning the star studded half marathon in 1:00:01. He finished 14 seconds ahead of Guye Adola of Ethiopia.
Robertson, the 2015 New Zealand 5000m champion, recorded the same time in winning the Lisbon half marathon in March last year. His twin brother Zane holds the New Zealand half marathon record of 59:47.
Robertson was delighted with his win.
"This is the biggest stacked field I've ever raced against and to win against such a competitive field, it's unbelievable," he said.
Adola ran the fastest ever debut marathon of 2:03:46 in last year's Berlin Marathon.
Robertson will debut over the full marathon distance in the Japanese Lake Biwa Mainichi Marathon on 4 March.
