Kate McIlroy cut three seconds off her New Zealand national 3000m steeplechase record yesterday after finishing fifth in the international event in Huesden, Belgium.
McIlroy ran 9m 32.54s, just six seconds behind the winner, Jeruto Kiptum of Kenya.
She next races over 3000m at Crystal Palace in London on Friday.
Adrian Blincoe ran a personal best 5000m of 13m 21.73s at the Huesden meeting, Paul Hamblyn recorded 3m 39.61s and Tim Prendergast 3m 54.65s in the 1500m.
